Jimmy Sheirgill opens up about surviving in Bollywood without a godfather, says he didn’t have luxury to do lead roles only – Times of India


Bollywood actor Jimmy Sheirgill has been in the film industry for more than two decades now ever since he made his debut with the critically acclaimed film ‘Maachis’ in 1996. While he was shot to fame after starring in Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan‘s hit film ‘Mohabbatein’, later he was seen in several supporting roles for films like ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘Special 26’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and more.

Talking about his career choices, the actor recently spilled the beans on surviving in the industry for 25 years without a godfather during an interview. He revealed that he has only ‘tried to adapt’ to every kind of situation. While he is proud of his film choices which were the best options for him then, he said that all he did was took up any interesting role that came in his way.

Talking about not having the luxury to wait for lead roles, he shared that people often tell him that he got typecasted because of the supporting roles he took up and added that he only went for the best option available to him as he hasn’t got anything severed on a platter.

On the work front, Jimmy was last seen in a pivotal role in Kangana and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’. He also lent his voice for narration in Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday’s 2019 film ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’.

In 2021, the actor has also made his digital debut.
